Southwestern sterling silver storyteller hair barrette. There is no artist hallmark on this piece. The barrette features a story being told. The storyteller's design gives homage to how the Navajos traditionally did not have a written language, so all history and traditions are passed orally. The barrette measures 3 1/16" long by 1/2" wide. The mechanism on the reverse is constructed from nickel for its strength and durability.
