Sterling Silver Block Turquoise Needlepoint Necklace by Navajo Francis M. Begay

Sterling silver block turquoise needlepoint necklace. The artist's hallmark ("F.M. Begay Navajo" above "Sterling") is Francis M. Begay. This spectacular necklace features 161 needlepoint stones and 77 round stones, set into a hinged center pendant, two curved side wings and a handmade link chain. The needlepoint block turquoise stones are 8mm long. The round stones are 5mm in diameter. Rows of silver stamped and twisted wire form the ornate setting. The side wings are 3 1/2" long by 1 1/16" wide. The necklace measures 23" long including the hook clasp. The center pendant adds another 5", with a 3 1/2"-diameter round piece attached to the upper part by a hinge. This necklace is in good condition.
