Unique Sterling Silver Knifewing Squash Blossom Necklace by Navajo Gibson Gene
Unique sterling silver Knifewing squash blossom necklace. The artist's hallmark (a peyote bird stamp) is Gibson Gene, Navajo. "Sterling" is stamped next to the hallmark. This rare silver-overlay piece features a Knifewing for the naja, and whirlwind symbols for the blossoms. Knifewing is a half-man, half-bird figure with sharp flint-like feathers. The ultimate warrior, he symbolizes protection, wisdom, strength, and honor. The Knifewing naja is 2 1/4" tall by 1 5/8" wide. The "blossoms" are 1 5/8" long. The necklace is strung with 8mm silver beads. It is 31" long including the shepherd's hook clasp. This necklace is in good vintage condition.
