Vintage sterling silver and chip inlaid turquoise squash blossom necklace. The design is peyote birds. Peyote buttons are used in the Native American Church. They are cactus buttons that contain a hallucinogen. They are considered part of a healing ceremony. The birds represent that concept. This necklace is 28" long from end to end laying flat. It is strung with 8 mm beads on a sturdy chain. The naja or front pendant is 2" tall x 1 3/4" wide. There are 7 birds on each side of the necklace. They are 1 3/16" x 3/4". The necklace is vintage and in good condition.
